Anjali Social Welfare Research Foundation [Govt. Reg. No.S/IL/56029] was established 2006 with a view to spread educational opportunity to remote areas specially to reach the unreached.

 Mission:- The Mission of the Association is to promote and empower poor and weaker section of the society through Education, Culture, Health, Socio-Economic, Environment and enlightment, participation and organization and resource building for the establishment of a self-reliant self sufficient and social justice based organization.

    Anjali Social Welfare Research Foundation is a national non-governmental organization, registered in West Bengal. It is founded in 2006 and includes professionals engaged or interested in adult education. Anjali Social Welfare Research Foundation is implementing organizations for different projects – alone or numerous partners (peoples’ and workers’ universities, adult schools, cultural centers, NGOs, training departments in companies etc.). It plays a role of different kinds of adult education  and lifelong learning. It is also one of the most relevant partners for many international organizations, programs and projects in the field of adult education.
Adult Education  covers many fields of adult education and lifelong learning: basic education for adults, professional-vocational education, training and retraining, education for democratic citizenship, education of elderly people, modern methods and didactic of adult teaching and others. The present situation of the country imposes four priorities: a) to develop strategy and legislation of adult education and standards in adult education, b) to strenghten international and regional cooperation, c) to (re)establish and enrich the system of institutions and providers, d) to continue the professionalizationof the field.

The University has set up Village Knowledge centre at Anjali Social Research Foundation for the benefit of the students of remote areas.
This center comprises of three distinct areas for the three functions of information of exchange, library and trainings. The information room is equipped with a internet connected computer, printer and scanner and has data about the 18 surrounding villages and the various government schemes on shelter, livelihood, education and health. The library has regional and local newspapers (like Hindu, Dinathanthi, Dinamalar, Dinakaran, Dinamani), magazines like India Today, all in the local language (Tamil), and informative materials and books produced under the RDC programme. The VKCs are really the local access and dissemination points for the RDC. The training room is to be used for raising community awareness and for people to share their experience and knowledge.
    A young, trained, women welcomes the visitor to this Centre, and guides the villagers through their inquiry. She will maintain the records of this center and will conduct regular training for the local youth and women in the use of ICT and multimedia tools.
